The King has a vision and he has a mission.
Speaker A:So we just need to embrace Jesus vision and his mission.
Speaker A:We don't need to create something new.
Speaker A:He's already given us his vision and mission.
Speaker A:The outworking of that there's certain things, maybe we say, well, we're called to do this, etc.
Speaker A:Well, let me just unpack that a little bit more on the second slide.
Speaker A:The King's vision is to be a dwelling place for God's presence.
Speaker A:He wants a people to be his dwelling place, right?
Speaker A:A kingdom, community formed and filled by the Spirit, revealing his glory, advancing his reign, awakening and transforming people, cities and nations.
Speaker A:Hence, awake nations.
Speaker A:We exist to see lives aligned with his will, communities renewed by his love.
Speaker A:So you could say families there.
Speaker A:However, individuals and the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.
Speaker A:Just as in heaven.
Speaker A:Now, this is not our vision, it's God's vision.
Speaker A:So Habakkuk 2:14, Matthew 6:10, you know, the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord on earth as it is in heaven.
Speaker A:What does that mean?
Speaker A:Certainly the fullness of that will not occur until Jesus returns.
Speaker A:However, we are called to give a kind of a.
Speaker A:It's like a video trailer, right?
Speaker A:Movie trailer, you see.
Speaker A:Oh, okay, so you haven't seen the movie yet, but this is what it looks like.
Speaker A:So it's a foretaste, a prophetic foretaste.
Speaker A:What does it mean that the things change?
Speaker A:Do you know the world is actually becoming a better place to live in?
Speaker A:Do you know that more people are coming to Jesus now than ever before in history?
Speaker A:And we look at things, we go, it's so terrible.
Speaker A:There's wars, there's this, and I get it, and that's bad.
Speaker A:But the earth is getting better and places that are seeing the kingdom of God advance.
Speaker A:Even though there's persecution and other things happening in certain parts, there's definitely a lot of good things happening in the world.
Speaker A:And we just need to continue to pray.
Speaker A:Our hope is not in the world, it's not in governments, it's in Jesus.
Speaker A:So, but ultimately we're called to be salt and light, right?
Speaker A:All right, so next slide.
Speaker A:You see his kingdom and will done on earth as it is in heaven.
Speaker A:All right, Kingdom mission disciple.
Speaker A: Remember, Matthew: Speaker A:Baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I've commanded you.
Speaker A:Lo, I'm with you always, even to the end of the age.
Speaker A:Amen so the mission that Jesus gave us, we sometimes refer to it as commission, is to make disciples.
Speaker A:In fact, in the New Testament language, there's only one word, so you'll notice it says make disciples in most modern translations.
Speaker A:Verse 19 in the Greek.
